Our task with this project was to make seamless stitching for a 360 interactive VR comedy to create the illusion of hallucination in space. We had to follow some steps to perform this task.
We wanted to separate the subject in the video from the background and then substitute the background itself to make the subject appear in the 360 scenes with the desired effect. Firstly, we had to do some rotoscoping, and then we repaired parallax issues, such as Optical Flow artifacts. The next step was to perform a green screen keying to clear the space for the background. Then we created a VR environment from scratch, which in our case was outer space with asteroids.
After that was done, we composed actors to our custom VR background and made some finishing touches with other visual effects.
